Berekum Chelsea are looking to offload captain Abdul Basit following his lowered form this season.

The talented attacking midfielder has played very little this season after suffering a massive dip in form.

Berekum Chelsea's General Manager Francis Oduro Sarfo has revealed plans to sell off their captain after years of dedicated service.

“Basit was registered for the season but he is not getting regular games for peculiar reasons,” he told Metro FM.

“He has been with the team for a long time and he has seen it all at the club.

“His performance and favour at the club has since dipped and the best thing was to have sold him like we did with the others.

“Kotoko were interested in him but negotiations didn’t go well.”

Basit was key for Chelsea in their debut campaign in the CAF Champions League two seasons ago.

Most of the quality players he was surrounded with then have however been sold to foreign clubs.
