Berekum Chelsea qualify to money zone of CAF Champions League

Posted On Sunday, 13th May 2012

Berekum Chelsea secured a historic qualification into the Group stage of the CAF Champions League by defeating Coton Sport 2-1 in Garoua on Sunday.

The first leg ended 0-0 in Berekum two weeks ago.

Striker Emmanuel Clottey and captain Abdul Basit put Chelsea 2-0 up before Coton Sport pulled one back.

The Blues will become the first Ghanaian club to play in the Group stage of the continent’s flagship event since 2006.

Chelsea will be US$ 400,000 richer for the feat.
