Berekum Chelsea President Emmanuel Kyeremeh has silenced rumours gaining currency that he has been arrested by Interpol.Â
The media-shy football administrator was reported busted by Interpol-Canada for embezzling funds of his former employers NDK Financiers in Ghana.
Kyeremeh, a Ghana FA Executive Committee member, was earlier reported dead by a section of the local media.
He had provided evidence that he was unwell and undergoing treatment in Canada.
"You are asking me about all these rumours and how true they were and fortunately, even though am not in Ghana I hear all of them," Kyeremeh exclusively told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
"Earlier on they scared the whole of my family by claiming I had passed out whiles seeking medical care in a certain European country but here I'm speaking to you.
"I have also heard rumours that I had been arrested in Canada by the Interpol because I owed some people in Ghana and had also embezzled some finances but I can tell you that I am still a board member of NDK Financial and you can check.
"I spoke to Mr Oko (Dzanie) few days ago but people are saying I had embezzled his money so he had arrested me, they are all not true.
"Recently am media house even said I had travelled to do business on a cocaine but because cocaine don't sell fast nowadays that's why I have kept long in returning to Ghana meanwhile am not a drug trafficker, its sad but what can I do.
"But am sure these rumours are all been fabricated by some people in Ghana football who are afraid of competition because they feel threatened by the way we are trying to run Chelsea."
Kyeremeh's absence and lack of investment has affected Berekum Chelsea who are currently languishing in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League.
