Berekum Chelsea labour to edge Amidaus in FA Cup

Posted On Sunday, 10th June 2012

Berekum Chelsea sealed their place in the MTN Ghana FA Cup semi-final after a hard-fought 1-0 win over second-tier side Amadaus FC at home on Sunday.

Striker Abdul Wahab hit a fine effort on the 39th minute mark to claim victory for the 2012 CAF Champions League campaigners.

Chelsea dominated play for the entire regulation period though Amidaus gave them some moments of concern in the opening moments of the first half.

Amadeus recorded the biggest upset in this year’s competition after beating Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko.

Berekum Chelsea will face AshantiGold in the semi-final later this month.

New Edubiase United qualified on Friday after brushing aside another second-tier side Danbort FC 3-0 at the Tema Park.

They will play the winner of the Tema Youth-Wassaman United clash.
