AshantiGold failed to reduce the point gap between them and leaders Kotoko after drawing 0-0 with Berekum Chelsea at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.
But Bashir Hayford's side have now jumped into second place with 27 points; seven less than Kotoko.
