Berekum Chelsea 0-0 AshantiGold
Berekum Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw by ten-man AshantiGold at the Golden City Park in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Coach Bashir Hayford who was playing his first competitive game in charge of AshantiGold aimed for a positive result and got it.
Both sides failed to create decent scoring chances for the first 30 minutes although Berekum Chelsea had chunk of possession.
The Blues made their intentions clear and it took a world-class stop by Ghana first choice goalkeeper Fatau Dauda to deny Eric Bekoe the opener.
Coach Bash sensing danger of falling behind solidified the back-line to form an iron crust shield.
After the break, Saddick Adams took the place of Bekoe to face his former side and his impact proved quite crucial in attack.
In the 74th minute, the former Ghana U17 star striker set up Bismark Idan who hit the woodwork.
Another through-pass from Adams found Idan in space but Dauda intimidated the latter to shoot wide.
AshantiGold barely came into the game with scoring chances but the few that came their way were squandered.
Midfielder Malik Akowuah was sent off after picking up a second yellow in injury time.
