Berekum Chelsea president Emmanuel Kyeremeh has publicly thanked the Ghana Football Association for the tremendous backing in their CAF Champions League campaign.
The Blues beat Cameroonian side and 2008 runners-up CotonSport 2-1 in Garoua on Sunday to advance to the mini-phase of the competition.
“We do appreciate the support by the GFA because their donation of US$ 30,000 helped us charter a flight to Garoua for the match,” Kyeremeh is quoted by the official Chelsea website www.berekumchelsea.com
“We left Accra on Saturday morning and that meant we had five days of training before departing for the assignment.
“The impact and administrative support is immeasurable. The other Executive Committee members and the clubs owners also have our support.
“We have taken a huge step in our history and we promise to meet expectations by God’s Grace.”
Chelsea will know its group opponents for tournament which begins in July.
