Berekum Chelsea have defended the decision to replace head trainer Hans Vander Pluijm.
The Dutchman has been elevated to the position of a technical director after guiding them in their debut Caf Champions League appearance this season.
It is immediately unknown what triggered the latest decision by the 2010 Ghanaian champions but officials have moved quickly to clarify the situation by insisting it was done in the supreme interest of the club.
“The move to appoint Hans is very strategic and we believe it will inure to the benefit of the club,” International Relations Manager Joe Addo said
“He has expertise in identifying talents. He is an expert in that field and that’s why we want him to supervise the technical direction of the club.
“This club is running on professional lines and so we believe the right things must be done.”
Chelsea bowed out of the Caf Champions League after recording two wins, three draws and one defeat to finish in third place behind Al Ahly.
This man is the best foreign local coach in recent years. GFA should plan how this coach could be a benefit Black Stars’ set up.
