Berekum Chelsea defender Ahmed Adams has rejoined his teammates after the burial of his late mother on Sunday.
His mother passed away two weeks ago after the club’s 1-1 draw with Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 19 year old has been very influential in the backline for Chelsea all four Group matches so far.
“After we played Al Ahly in Accra, I was informed by a relative that my mum was no more and I couldn’t believe it,” the centre-back told MTNFootball.com
“I have been deeply hit by the news but all the same the good Allah knows best and I have to console and pick myself up because there is nothing I can do.
“The club asked me whether I would be psychologically strong enough to feature in the Zamalek match and I told them I would want to play in that game to bid my mum a special farewell with a good result which I believe will come to pass.”
Adams is also a member of Ghana’s Under-20 team who have a 2013 African Youth Championship final round qualifier against Morocco next month.
