Berekum Chelsea captain Abdul Basit has hailed the quality of new signings and believes they can win back the Premier League crown.

The 2010 Ghanaian League Champions posted a 2-0 win over Heart of Lions to go top of the table on the opening day of the Ghana Premier League.

Chelsea have signed strikers Eric Bekoe and Sadick Adams while Samuel Kyere has also joined the club after a nine-year stints in Egypt.

The captain of the Berekum-based side is delighted with the ‘strategic’ new additions and says they can help them to recapture the Premier League crown.

“If you look at the caliber of players that we have there is the potential of winning the ultimate,” Basit told Radio XYZ

“When you look at our performance in the Caf Champions League and the local league last season, you will see that we have the potential of winning the League title.

“Our aim is to win every single match and we’re happy we started on a positive note.”

The Blues will travel to Bekwai to face Aduana Stars in their next Premier League game on Sunday October 14.

Na lie! B. Chelsea can never win the league title again, maybe in the next 6 yrs. For now the continental club masters are around (H.O.O) and we gonna hijack the league for the next 5 yrs, this season is surely ours.
