Mohammed Abdul Basit is on two yellow cards for Berekum Chelsea so will miss Coton Sport tie

Berekum Chelsea captain Mohammed Abdul Basit is suspended for Sunday’s CAF Champions League final qualifying round first leg tie against Coton Sport.

The offensive midfielder has picked two yellow cards from the previous qualifying rounds and is ineligible to play at the Golden City Park.

Basit’s received his first yellow card during the preliminary round tie against LISCR of Liberia in Monrovia.

His second booking was against Raja Casablanca in Monrovia early this month.

“Ever since I was told about my suspension, I have been very unhappy. We are in crucial stage my team mates will need my services,” Basit told the club’s official website.

“What I have to do is to pray we get a favourable result and advance to the money zone. I trust my team mates to deliver. I have no doubts about that.”

Basit scored in the 5-0 thrashing of Raja Casablanca in March during the first leg tie at the Golden City Park.
