Berekum Arsenal recorded their first win of the season at the expense of a misfiring AshantiGold at the Golden City Park on Sunday.

Experienced midfielder Bright Kukubor curled home the solitary goal of the game with a 31st minute free-kick.

Arsenal dominated proceedings from the start and created couple scoring of opportunities.

In the 3rd minute, Dauda Ibrahim crashed a pile-driver into Fatau Dauda's crossbar and defender Salou also headed wide from range.

Henry Yartey should steer the Gunners into the lead in the 28th minute but he chested a Bright Kukubor cross inches away.

Just after the half hour mark, the opener arrived.

Bright Kukubor curled a superb free-kick from 23 yard to register the opener for Arsenal.

Arsenal failed to lift their foot off pedal and piled more pressure but they failed to go past Fatau Dauda.

AshGold fought to make an impact after the interval but Arsenal were more determined to book their debut win of the season.

AshGold boss Yaw Acheampong's future is in the balance after the defeat.
