KRC Genk star Bennard Kumordzi is enjoying the moment of their progress to the group stages of the Uefa Europa League.
The 27-year-old saw second-half action for the Blues as they resisted a strong challenge from Icelandic side FH to hammer their way through after winning 7-2 on aggregate.
Kumordzi, the lanky midfield engineer with enormous technical abilities, came off the bench in the 79th minute to replace French midfielder Julien Gorius and held the midfield with great ability.
“It is always great to reach such a crucial stage of the competition. Last season we got closer but exited painfully but this time round we want to go further and the win over our opposition was emphatic,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
Hope we get a good group and progress to the knock rounds.”
The former Dijon midfielder has been influential for Genk in both their domestic and European campaigns.
