Former Ghana FA boss Ben Koufie has dismissed suggestions of including any of the Local-Black Stars players into the mainstream team ahead of the World Cup despite qualifying to the CHAN final.
The home-based Stars secured a final berth against Libya after a nerve-racking penalty shoot-out win over perennial rivals Nigeria on Wednesday night.
The veteran football administrator, who doubles as the technical chief of the Ghana FA, Ã believes none of the players deserve a seat on the plane to Brazil.
ââ¬ÅI have seen them play and they will not command a place on the full team. We cannot single it out and say this player has been excellent so we need to include him,â⬠Koufie told Happy FM
ââ¬ÅThey have done well as a team but individually no. Konadu has done an excellent job, but to say somebody should be called for the Black Stars proper I will confidently say no.
ââ¬ÅWe have to groom them. We should not rush them but rather try to build them up so that when they get there we will all benefit.ââ¬
Despite securing a final berth, there are others who have not been impressed with the performance of the team.
