Asante Kotoko ace Yahaya Mohammed denies he is a maverick after hogging the headlines for all the bad reasons last month following his reported move to Libyan side Al Ittihad Tripoli.
The midfielder-cum-striker is accused of leaving the country to sign a pre-contract with the oil-rich side without Kotokoââ¬â¢s knowledge.
Mohammed, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is facing punishment from the club.
The former Amidaus Professionals captain is reported to have rejected a contract extension so he could leave the club on a free transfer.
He has been labeled a ââ¬Ëboy boyââ¬â¢ and for many, he is seen as a controversial character.
ââ¬ÅI am not a bad boy as some people are spreading around, lately,â⬠the former Nice player said on Kumasi-based Kessben FM.
Mohammed is yet to play for Kotoko since he returned from the 2014 African Nations Championship.
