Francis Dadzie is on trial at Portland Timbers.

Bechem United striker Francis Dadzie has joined Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers for pre-season training in a bid to secure a contract, MTNFootball.com can has reported.

Accra-based ArthurLegacy Sports Management arranged for the 18-year old to train with the first team for a month hoping to impress for a permanent deal.

Dadzie is a highly-rated striking prospect bought from Cheetah FC last August and Bechem United are hopeful he can be as successful as former Ghana international Tony Yeboah.

”Dadzie is a big deal because he is a natural goalscorer with the rare big left-foot and talent in the shadow of compatriot Tony Yeboah,” FIFA agent Oliver Arthur sounded positive about the player’s prospects.

Portland Timbers have earmarked the giant Ghana striker for a first team place if he impresses on the one-month trial.

They were winners of the Western Conference and third-best overall in the MLS last season.
