Bechem United chairman Kingsley Owusu-Achau wants national team coach Kwesi Appiah to recognize ‘‘the exceptional talent” of Augustine Okrah and name him in his World Cup squad.

The businessman argues that the 22-year-old has done enough to earn an invitation to the Black Stars.

‘‘Since the start of the season Okrah has been a consistent performer for Bechem and we all unanimously agree that his talent has genuine pedigree,” Owusu-Achau said.

“It was a shock he didn’t make Ghana’s CHAN squad but in our objective opinion we believe he has done enough to be merit a call into the Black Stars for the World Cup.

‘‘We can only appeal to coach Kwesi Appiah to give him a chance.”

Okrah has received rave reviews for his consistent man-of-the-match performances and goal-scoring form this season.

After match-day 25 of the First Capital Plus Premier League, he has scored 12 goals and provided 9 assists which represent more than 80% contribution to all goals scored by his club this season.

I AGREE WITH THE MANAGER A 100 PERCENT. WHY NOT I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD BE GIVEN A CHANCE. JUS COS HE PLAYS IN THE LOCAL LEAGUE DOES NOT MEAN HE CNT COMPETE WITH THE BEST OF THEM.

Masa cut the crap and stop hallucinating! This norm of over hyping average players must stop. BS call-up for the wer? Tweaaa!! So now every Tom, Dick, and Harry that is scoring some awof goals in any league deserves a call-up huh? I bet you this guy will struggle to make the cut outside GH simply because he’s not good enough, I mean he’s not matured yet and far from been a complete player. Even Mahatma Otoo who made lotta impact in the domestic league by featuring & scoring consistently for three consecutive seasons is not finding it easy in the Norwegian Tippeligaen as a result for his BS exclusion how much less this chap? If he was that good he would have made the cut @ Kotoko some few seasons ago but was declared surplus to requirement which resulted in him been released to another club, the fact that he’s having quite a decent season doesn’t mean he deserves a BS call-up. He gotta show consistency, it remains to be seen if he can replicate this same form next season cuz I wont be surprised at all if it turns out to be a fluke. Former goal king Baffour was also over hyped like this and we all saw how he struggled in a mediocre SA league, now he’s even struggling to find his feet in the domestic league with Ashgold. And by the way who told you he’s a real 20 yr old? Lol I wouldn’t wanna further on that.
