Bechem United chairman Kingsley Owusu-Achau wants national team coach Kwesi Appiah to recognize ‘‘the exceptional talent” of Augustine Okrah and name him in his World Cup squad.

The businessman argues that the 22-year-old has done enough to earn an invitation to the Black Stars.

‘‘Since the start of the season Okrah has been a consistent performer for Bechem and we all unanimously agree that his talent has genuine pedigree,” Owusu-Achau said.

“It was a shock he didn’t make Ghana’s CHAN squad but in our objective opinion we believe he has done enough to be merit a call into the Black Stars for the World Cup.

‘‘We can only appeal to coach Kwesi Appiah to give him a chance.”

Okrah has received rave reviews for his consistent man-of-the-match performances and goal-scoring form this season.

After match-day 25 of the First Capital Plus Premier League, he has scored 12 goals and provided 9 assists which represent more than 80% contribution to all goals scored by his club this season.
