Bechem United and Augustine Okrah have rejected as “inaccurate and complete falsehood” fresh claims and rumours from Sudan that they rejected a US$ 1m deal to join Al Merriekh.

The ‘‘bizarre claims” intensified recently after the Sudanese media claimed information from Al Merriekh revealed both clubs agreed on a €450,000 transfer fee but a representative of Bechem United arrived in Khartoum only to demand €750,000.

Other reports have put the figure at a US$1 million.

Bechem United say Al Merriekh offered US$ 600,000 transfer fee plus onward transfer benefits and an annual salary of US$ 300,000.

But the club could not consider the deal because Al Merriekh failed to offer guarantees on the prompt payment of the transfer fee plus that of the player.

Speculation surrounding Okrah began earlier in this year after the player became the top scorer and many people’s best player in both league and cup football in Ghana.

‘‘Okrah will join a club with offers of first-team football and money matching his true value in due cause,’’ a Bechem United official told GHANASoccernet.com
