Bechem United have been dealt a blow for Wednesday’s First Capital Plus Premier League clash against Liberty Professionals with suspension of playmaker Augustine Okrah.

The in-form offensive midfielder picked up his third yellow card of the season in the 2-0 win over AshantiGold two weeks ago and will serve a one-match ban.

According to the official caution sheet released by the Premier League Board, Okrah sustained yellows cards on Match-Days 6, 16 and 17 respectfully.

By the regulations he forfeits right to feature in the immediate game to the third yellow card game.

Okrah is the club’s top scorer in the league with five goals and will be sorely missed by coach Tom Strand who has likened him to Barcelona icon Lionel Messi.

‘‘Being our key player for the season and to us at Bechem United the best player in league all season, Okrah’s absence is a huge huge blow as we advance our top-4 ambition,’’ club chairman Kingsley Owusu-Achau emphasizes.

‘‘Okrah has consistently carried this team since the start but we have six, seven set of consistent performers available for the match. We expect the serious fight for regular places in the starting XI for games to motivate the players to beat Liberty.’’
