Bayern equire about AC Milan's Boateng

German giants Bayern Munich have officially asked about the availability Kevin-Prince Boateng who is said to be unhappy at AC Milan.

The 24-year-old German-born has just one-and-half-years left on his current Milan contract.

The Bavarians have become the latest club to enquire about the 2010 Ghana World Cup superstar.

Bayern manager Josef Heynckes is a long-standing admirer of the former Germany youth international is prepared to cash in on him if Milan fail to hand him a new deal.

English giants Manchester United assessed the possibility of signing him in the January transfer window.

Kevin's junior brother, Jerome Boateng, joined Bayern from Manchester City two seasons ago.
