Basit praying for Frieburg deal this summer

Abdul Basit hopes he is handed a deal by Frieburg in the summer

Berekum Chelsea captain Mohammed Abdul Basit is hoping to land a deal with German side Frieburg during this summer’s transfer window.

The midfielder spent two-weeks at the Bundesliga club last month after an eye-catching performance in the CAF Champions League.

He returned to score for his side last Saturday in their 1-0 win over Amidaus Professionals in the Ghana Premier League.

“My stay in Germany wasn’t easy because it was very cold but I did my best and the officials were impressed with my output,” Basit told Accra-based Joy FM

“After my trails I had a meeting with the coach of Freiburg and he was so impressed with my output.”

Basit led Berekum Chelsea to win their first Ghana Premier League title in 2011.

He played at the 2011 African Nations Championships in Sudan.
