Ashantigold goalkeeper Fatau Dauda threatened to beat up a ‘ball boy’ during his side's Premier League defeat at Hasaacas on Sunday.

The 30-year-old endured a nightmarish time at the Essipong stadium as the miners lost 2-0 against their host.

However, the Black Stars goalkeeper came under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons as he attempted to beat up an innocent looking ball boy during the game.

Dauda, who has struggled for game time at the club, was unhappy with a perceived delayed tactics by the ball boy and warned to beat him up.

Angry fans booed at him and unused many unprintable word as the miners were cut to pieces by Hasaacas.

“He claimed I was delaying and so threatened to beat me up If I dare get close to his post,” ball-boy Opoku Boadu told Takoradi-based Aseda FM

“The referee intervened and stopped him from attacking me. I was changed from his post and he again threatened one of my colleagues who was assigned there.

“He was angry for no apparent reason and I’m surprised he will do that.”

Dauda was returning to the post after losing his place to in-form Robert Dabuo.
