Striker Emmanuel Baffour has been named the 2011 Sports Writers Association of Ghana Player of the Year.
The New Edubiase United front man’s 21 goals in the just ended Ghana Premier League earned him the accolade.
A SWAG statement read: “Baffour’s nomination follows his outstanding performance in the 2011/12 premier league, as well as his emergence as the highest goal scorer in the just-ended season with 21 goals.”
Ghana duo Andre Ayew and Harrison Afful will vie for the top prize of Sports Personality of the Year with 2011 All Africa Games Paralympic double gold medalist Ajara Mohammed.
Ghana’s Under-23 team have been named as Team of the Year after winning historic 2011 All Africa Gold medal.
The winning coach Kwasi Appiah will receive the Coach of the Year award.
FC Nania-for winning the MTN Ghana FA Cup and Super Cup-are the Club of the Year.
The Awards Gala will be held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra next week.

Yes i agree with you. They could have named him the most exciting player instead of the best player. From the way he seems to be running all over the place looking for contracts and catching none for now, i just hope he doesn’t end up like Kweku Essien.
