It has been a terrible week for Ghana star Kevin-Prince Boateng and his Schalke 04 team-mates as they crashed to an embarrassing 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

The Royal Blues are still reeling from a 6-1 home defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League.

Boateng lasted the entire as they were thorn into shreds by the Bavarians.

Schalke were four goals behind after only 28 minutes.

David Alaba, Arjen Robben (2) and Mario Mandzukic put Bayern in control of the game before a charitable Rafinha own goal gave Schalke some scant consolation.

Robben then completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Kyriakos Papadopoulos was shown a red card to round off another bad day at the office for Schalke.

Schalke just completed the most understandably horrible week in the short history of modern soccer, a pair games that left one of the most affluent clubs in Europe on the wrong end of a 11-2 scoreline over their last 180 minute.
