Baba Abdul Rahman arrived on Sunday for the Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Sudan

Germany-based defender Baba Abdul Rahman is the first player to arrive for Ghana’s crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan on Sunday.

The youngster touched down in Accra last Sunday and will gear up for the team’s first training session on Tuesday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The left-back was in full-time action for his struggling Bundesliga side Greuther Furth who earned a surprise 2-2 draw at Werder Bremen on Saturday.

The 18-year-old will be chasing his senior national team debut having represented the Ghana U17 and U20 teams.

The former Asante Kotoko player has been drafted in to solve Ghana’s problematic left-back position.

Rahman has made a lot of impact in the second half of the season in his 12 appearances for the promoted top-flight side.

He has been linked with Schalke 04 and a host of European stellar clubs.

  4. maka says:

for all of u guys…that so called left back problem is just a mirage and no issue; it has just been drummed into ghanafour’s ears aaaahh…..now everyone believes there’s a left back problem. There isn’t —-the coaches have intentionally created it…or allowed it to be so in order to fill in their own players…crooks!

Listen, tell me if any of these players can’t play left back fot Ghana:

    1. David Addy

    2. Mubarak Wakaso

    3. Nana Akwasi Asare

    4. Baba Abdul Rahman

    5. Abdul Razak Nuhu

    6. Massahudu Alhassan

    7. Seth Owusu

How many have i just mentioned?….People…it seems thats the order of the day—ghanaian leaders have realized that ghanaians don’t reason..they dont think…or cant seem to think..hence….the nation will continue to suffer and be milked! Who said we have a left back problem!

That is bullshit and nonsense! There is no left back problem…and that’s why a stupid coach can call left backs and choose to play a right back…or simply…ignore the left backs altogether!

What a stupid nation! Come again!
