BA United gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League after 10 years in the second-tier league following a 1-0 win over Real Tamale United on Wednesday in the Division One League Zone I playoffs.

The Soccer Apostles stunned Tamale-based RTU thanks to a late second-half strike from Major Baah Tetteh at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium.

Frimpong Manso's men took a giant step towards promotion when they eased past regional rivals Berekum Arsenal on Sunday before defeating the Northern Lions to claim the sole ticket available in the group.

RTU, who had also recorded victory in their opening game against Wa African United, went into the game with promotion on their minds and held B/A for most parts of the games despite their impressive attacking prowess.

The match-winner would not arrive until Major Baah Tetteh broke loose on the flanks to rattle the RTU net with a fierce drive.
