Azerbaijan 2012 LOC congratulates Ghana on qualification

Sports News of Thursday, 26 April 2012Source: GNA The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan, has congratulated Ghana for qualifying for the tournament which will be staged later in the year.

“Congratulations. We are very pleased to see your country as a participant team of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012”.

Elkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the LOC said in a letter to the Ghana Football Association GFA), copied to the GNA Sports on Thursday in Accra.

It said, “On behalf of the LOC, we would like to wish your team every success during the championship.

“With the participation of countries such as Ghana, together we can build great memories, strong cooperation, talent development, and a better world.”

The Black Maidens qualified for the tournament after beating South Africa 5-1 on aggregate in the final round of qualifiers at the start of the month of April.

The tournament will be played from 22 September to 13 October this year.**
