Ayew making progress on shoulder injury recovery

Published on: 13 June 2012

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew is satisfied with his recovery from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him for two months.

The Olympique Marseille went under the knife in April at a hospital in Lyon by renowned Dr Walsch.

The 22-year-old has begun gym work as he steps up his quest of regaining full fitness before the season gets underway.

A physical trainer from his French side has arrived in Accra to keep his return to action on schedule.

"I'm much better, I have been in the gym training," Ayew told Joy Sports.

"My physical trainer from Marseille is here so I’m training so hard with him and will be back soon."

Ayew missed Ghana's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers double-header against Lesotho and Zambia this month.
