Andre Ayew is delaying operation on his injured shoulder to help Olympique Marseille in the title run in.
The 22-year-old was forced to withdraw from Ghanaââ¬â¢s friendly with Chile on Wednesday after feeling some pains in his shoulder where he aggravated during the 2012 Nations Cup.
Twice, the ex Ghana U-20 captain had to have his shoulder clocked back into place after popping out in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea but having an operation which will permanently fix the problem now will end Ayewââ¬â¢s season.
Marseilleââ¬â¢s chance of winning the Ligue 1 title is fast diminishing with their eight position and a staggering 14-point off the pace.
They are now concentrating on finishing well to guranatee Champions League football next season and Ayew wants to be in the thick of things.
ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢ve dislocated my shoulder several times. Itââ¬â¢s no longer staying in place properly,â⬠he said.
"If I have an operation now my season is over. That wonââ¬â¢t be beneficial either for me or for the club.ââ¬
Ayew however says the timing of the operation could be forced early if he fails to cope with the injury
ââ¬ÅI will have to grit my teeth as I have been doing for a while now," he adds.
ââ¬ÅWhen it no longer holds, I will have to go under (the surgeonââ¬â¢s knife). But if I can hold out until the end of the season, (I will).ââ¬
