Ayew brothers combine to preserve Marseille's perfect run

Posted On Monday, 17th September 2012

Jordan Ayew, in front, with his brother Andre Ayew, scored the winner for Marseille

Brothers Jordan and Andre Ayew combined to score in the 53rd minute to ensure Olympique Marseille maintain their 100 percent run and set new club record in a 1-0 victory over Nancy at Stade Marcel Picot on Sunday evening.

The 20-year-old arrived in the right place to plant home a powerful header beyond N’Dy Assembé from an Andre Ayew stinging cross from the left wing.

Andre outwitted a Nancy defender on the left before tailoring a cross for Jordan to apply a screaming header.

Marseille had their perfect start to the campaign to protect and Jordan Ayew made clear of their intentions in the 3rd minute.

His flicking header came off the hand of a Nancy defender inside the box but the referee failed to award a spot-kick to the visitors.

Jordan Ayew struck the winner for Marseille

Andre Ayew came close to opening the scoring on the 10th minute mark after his low drive was cleared off the line.

Marseille enjoyed lion’s share of possession and their dominance produced the results eight minutes after the break with Jordan Ayew handing them the maximum points.

Jordan’s strike has set a new club record at Marseille by starting the season with five wins in a row.

Great guys. Keep it up. Peace…

  2. Kay says:

Against go die. Akwesi Appiah should stop listening to the crowed and allow the boy to play. They are the future of this nation. The guys to bring the WC to GH.

    • Jesse says:

Akwasi Appiah doesn’t know how to use all our stars.
Every good coach will be more than happy to coach Black Stars because of quality.
We just are hoping and praying that we qualify for both AFCON and World Cup.

      • redd says:

with akwasi appiah as coach u might just begin forget especially the WC.The worse coach in ghana’s history. He cant even win an away match. We ll certainly lose to minnows malawi but might just scrape through only to end up being disgraced at the tournament itself.

  3. kantoose says:

This jordan chap plays very beautifully on the international stage but he looks lost on the park against African opponents. I think he is yet to discover the African terrain. Akwasi Appiah should play Jordan for international Assignments but when it comes to Black African opponents he should start Clottey and Gyan.

    • Jesse says:

Blame the BS coach. See how Clottey play with BC and Jordan with OM. A good coach would know how to use these quality strikers but AA has no clue. Have you seen Kwadwo Asamoah at Juventus? but in BS he is a mediocre. AA promises too much but gives only little results. He is becoming untouchable coach. We need to sit up.

  4. Benjamin Carboo says:

just don’t know what words to describe these brothers.

  5. wassarian1 says:

Whether the Fake Black Star Fans love the Ayew’s or not….Masa they are ALREADY blessed. Marseille has confirmed that. Stop fooling yourselves. Stop the tribalism life. We don’t need that in Ghana Football. Keep your tribalism judging in your families FOOLS…

  6. wassarian2 says:

    My brother Wassarian1:
Is sad how some people are blind and fools.Let me say Blind-fools. Many dey for wana country inside waa. Uncivilized Tribalitic illiterates .They just can’t admit the truth of excellence and moving forward. The Ayews combined with Atsu and incoming Yiadom and Frimpong will be good for the future Black Stars.

  7. Spirogyra says:

Perfect combination and a gud outclass performance from those guys
