AshantiGold’s board have charged the team to win at least a trophy (preferably the Premier League) at the end of the current campaign.

The Miners have not won anything over a staggering 16-year period.

The club’s board in its maiden meeting of the season on Tuesday have thus tasked the management, the playing and technical body to ensure at least a trophy is won this season.

“At our first board meeting of the season, the board charged the team and management to win a trophy this season,” AshGold’sChief Executive Kudjo Fianoo told Time FM.

“So the task is to either win the Premier League or the FA Cup.

“The board was made aware that in winning the league, we’ll need additional resources in order for us to participate in Africa.

“But the board chair ruled that that is a different matter all together and that our main focus was to win a trophy this season.”

AshGod are currently fourth in the Ghanaian top flight with 12 points – two behind leaders Berekum Chelsea after seven rounds of matches.
