AshGold talks with Kotoko for midfielder Yahaya Mohammed halted over Kotoko leadership issues

AshGold's hopes of signing versatile midfielder Yahaya Mohammed from Ghana champions Asante Kotoko is in danger as transfer activities at the Porcupine Warriors have been halted.

Kotoko reportedly agreed to allow Yahaya move to Obuasi in a swap deal that would include cash plus former Ghana U17 midfielder Aaron Amoah.

AshGold officials held initial discussion with the now dismissed Dr KK Sarpong administration and a deal was imminent as both parties were close to reaching an agreement.

However, things have come to a stand-still as Dr Sarpong resigned as Kotoko's Executive Board Chairman with his administration dissolving last week.

Instructions have been given to halt all transfer activities at the club with midfielder Michael Anaba's move to Spanish side Elche FC in dangerous as documents are locked up at the club's office in Kumasi.

Yahaya Mohammed has declared his interest to join AshGold and the Miners would re-ignite talks as soon as new officials are installed to manage Kotoko.
