Aduana deserved the 1-0 win over AshantiGold at the Obuasi Len Clay

AshantiGold suffered their first Ghana Premier League defeat of the season in a 1-0 reverse at home to Aduana Stars on Sunday.

Former Liberty Professionals player Alexander Aryee scored in the 55th minute to give the 2010 champions their second away victory this term.

AshGold were dominant and made several scoring attempts but Stephen Adams, the Aduana goalkeeper, denied the home side.

The club’s leading scorer Yakubu Mohammed was held in check by the John Ashong who was returning to play against his former club.

But Aduana’s midfield comprising Emmanuel Allan Skido, Daniel Darkwah and goal hero Aryee were effective.

The Dormaa-based side have swapped positions with the Miners on the league table and are now in fourth place.

Aduana are tied on 12 points apiece but in third place and two points behind leaders Berekum Chelsea.
