AshantiGold supporters want their head coach Yaw Acheampong to step aside for their Premier League game against Medeama.

The Miners have lost back-to-back games which has seen them slump to 7th in the Ghanaian top flight.

The poor run of results have seen management divided over the future of the ex Ghana international.

And it now appears the supporters have grown fed up and want action taken against their coach starting with the midweek game against Medeama.

“The complaints from the supporters are just too much,”AshGold supporters chief Martin Kwame Agyapong told Obuasi-based Time FM.

“We have been telling them (Supporters) to exercise restraint and be patient but the results are not helping.

“We lost to Aduana here at Len Clay and now we have lost in Berekum to Arsenals.

“We believe our team is better than the results and therefore the need to do something.

“We as supporters thus suggest that the coach be made to step aside for the game against Medeama for the assistant to take over because we can see Yaw Acheampong has been under a lot of stress lately.

“We want him away for the game against Medeama, after which we will look at the way forward.”

The Obuasi club need to pick maximum points at home against Medeama on Sunday to get their title ambitions back on track.
