Midfielder Owusu Jackson is on the radar of AshGold

AshGold have taken their hunt for experience in midfield to Berekum Chelsea as they have shown interest in midfielder Owusu Jackson.

The Miners are on the market searching for a tried and test midfielder to blend of the youth available and Bashir Hayford has identified the 24-year-old as a perfect candidate for the job at the Len Clay Stadium.

Talks have stalled over Yahaya Mohammed deal as managerial uncertainty continue at Kotoko and CEO Kudjo Fianoo and Hayford do not want to be caught unprepared and have already decided to go in for Jackson who has spent over three seasons in Berekum.

Chelsea will return to Africa next season with Champions League action in the offing and new trainer Tony Lokko wants to build a formidable squad to protect their reputation on the continent.

He would want to have all his experience players available for Africa however, a decent offer from AshGold would not be rejected by the Blues.

But if Kotoko are able to work around the clock to tie up the swap deal for Aaron Amoah and Yahaya Mohammed, AshGold would back out of Jackson's pursuit.
