Lawrence Lartey hopes to get lucky this time around after his second straight nomination as the Best Defender in the MTN FA Cup.

The AshantiGold defender earned his first nomination after leading Nania FC to FA Cup glory last term.

The 18-year-old however lost out on the personal accolade to then-defensive teammate Abraziz Abankwa.

Lartey later secured a move to the Miners after impressing at the Division One club where he helped the side to the finals of the FA Cup which they lost 1-0 to New Edubiase.

And the Ghana U-20 captain hopes to be the one to mount the podium for the award this time around.

“I am very happy to have received another nomination, it could only mean I have been consistent over the years,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“For me last season is past and I am looking ahead to what is before me so hopefully I will get the award.”

Lartey will be contesting the award alongside fellow AshGold teammate Henry Etsir and Samuel Abeiku Ainooson of New Edubiase.
