Fatau Dauda will join Ghana's pre-Nations Cup camping in the UAE
AshGold Chief Executive Officer Kudjo Fianoo has rued the loss of duo Fatau Dauda and Henri Traore to the 2013 AFCON.
Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has been named in Ghana’s provisional 26-man squad while defender Henri Traore will join Burkina Faso’s Stallions squad for this month’s Nations Cup in South Africa.
AshGold have already planned replacement for Fatau Dauda but will not bring in another defender to fill the void created by Traore.
“Dauda’s absence is a big blow because he is our first choice goalkeeper and also doubles as our captain so it is going to be a big loss,” CEO Kudjo Fianoo told Accra-based Happy FM.
“We are also losing Henri Traore to Burkina Faso,” he added.
Dauda will leave with the Ghana contingent for Abu Dhabi on January 4.
