GHALCA Top 4 champions AshantiGold beat New Edubiase United 2-1 in the coronation match at the Len Clay on Sunday.

AshGold were declared champions after Hearts of Oak, a finalist in the competition, decided not to honour the second leg of the final match at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Hearts wanted the replay moved from Kumasi to Accra but GHALCA refused and insisted on the match being played in the Garden City.

Namibian import Petrus Shitembi scored the opener in the 24th minute but Eric Fordwor levelled for Edubiase.

Defender Augustine Sefah snatched the match winner for the Miners.
