AshantiGold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo says there are concerted efforts to raise the standard of the Ghana Premier League.

The Ghana FA Executive Committee is of the view that the strict implantation of the Club Licensing System this season will go a long way to help.

"It is true that we have over-concentrated on the Black Stars for far too long. As a club man and an Executive Committee member and also against the backdrop that Ghana's slots in CAF inter-club competitions have suffered, I am overly worried and so is the entire Executive Committee of the FA,” Fianoo revealed to Solar FM in Dunkwa-On-Offin on Saturday.

“I can tell you that at the last Executive Committee meeting, we deliberated on this in a bid to reverse the trend and uplift the league, among which included steps to enforce the club licensing system.

“We have decided among other things, that all league centers that do not meet certain criterion and requirements shall be closed down to the 2014/15 football season.”

Fianoo also revealed that league club representatives on the Executive Committee are not resting on their oars as far as helping push the standard of Ghana's league up.

“I can assure you that the league club representatives on the Executive Committee are advocating seriously for much attention to be paid to the local league.”
