Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II has told the Black Stars it is about 'sacrifice and not money' whenever they come to play for the Ghana national team.

The Black Stars are on a mission to redeem themselves from their disappointing showing at the 2014 World Cup.

Ghanaian fans are infuriated by the manner in which the side crashed out of the finals staged in Brazil.

The Black Stars aside failing to make it past the group stage of the finals staged in Brazil were saddled with player agitation for money and also issues of indiscipline.

The team now determined to win back the love of the fans must record a massive win over Uganda in their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.

The Black Stars as tradition whenever they play in Kumasi, visit the Ashanti King to solicit his blessing ahead of every game.

The Asantehene in receiving the players advices them to dedicate themselves to sacrifice whenever they come to play for the national team.

"I admit this is your God giving talent turned into a profession and it is where your wages are paid," Otumfour Osei Tutu II told the players.

"But when it comes to Ghana, know that your are serving your country. This you must accept.

"If you are not able to sacrifice for the nation, then you are not worth being in the team.

"There are a lot of players but you have been the ones privilege enough to representing the nation.

"And therefore when you are on the field, you are representing the whole nation.

"I therefore advice that from now onwards, rededicate yourselves to Ghana.

"And if you are not disciplined as a player, you can never excel and can never be in the team.

"We see what goes on in the transfer markets with players moving for huge sums. It is because they know you have something valuable to offer.

"There are scouts all over watching because they also know you have some qualities they need.

"Wherever you play your football, if you are not called up to the national team, then you are not accepted beyond measure.

"When it comes to Ghana, it is never about money. It is about sacrifice for the nation."
