The Asantehene – Otumfour Osei Tutu II, has reminded the Black Stars the entire nation expect them to qualify Ghana to the 2014 World Cup.
The entire Ghana squad and officials of the Ghana FA and Ministry of Sports visited the leader of the powerful king on Tuesday ahead of their clash with Egypt next week.
Ghana are in search of a third straight appearance at the World Cup while Egypt, six time winners of the AFCON title, are hunting for their first ever appearance since 1990.
The statistics favour the North Africans to eliminate the Black Stars but Kwesi Appiah’s men also have their sight on a ticket to Brazil and the Asantehene has asked them to go all out for victory.
“Egypt is our last hurdle. We need victory and if there is any hurdle, we have to beat them”, he said.
The Asantehene said the nation will be praying for the team in the hope that the senior national team will “give us victory”.
Ghana reached the play-off stage after finishing top of Group D, beating Zambia to the slot while Egypt kept a 100% run in Group G claiming back-to-back wins over all their group opponents.
