Kotoko set to axe TEN players - veterans Oduro, Boakye to be released
Stephen Odruo and Isaac Boakye will be released by Kotoko

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are set to embark on a massive clear-out with veteran players Stephen Oduro and Isaac Boakye among TEN players set to be axed.

The Porcupine Warriors will release ten players to make way for the arrival of some six players targeted by the Kumasi-based club for next season, insiders have revealed.

Of the ten players to be axed the identities of only six players are known with coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani set to name the other four players later.

Oduro and Boakye will headline the list of the players to be released with Godfred Asante, Nana Bobie Ansah and Osman Bashiru also set for the exit door.

The future of goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye remains uncertain as management and the technical team are still debating over the future of the Burkinabe shot-stopper.

The identities of the four remaining players will be known when coach Dramani finalises his plans.

Kotoko have three key competitions to play in next season and need young players to be able to play in the league, the Champions League and FA Cup.

Kotoko are seeking to augment their squad for the upcoming season and coach Didi Dramani wants younger players for the challenges of next season.

The Porcupines have already agreed to sign Obed Owusu from Berekum Chelsea but the deal is yet to be formalised.
