Asante Kotoko chairman to go solo on club's management

Asante Kotoko chairman Dr. Sarpong livid at management's conduct

Asante Kotoko chairman Dr K.K Sarpong says he will henceforth be acting unilaterally for lack of trust of his management team.

Dr. Sarpong is furious over persistent confidential leaks to the media especially with transfer related issues.

Some media reports have quoted authoritatively of a $400,000 cash injection to Kotoko following the planned sale of midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei to TP Mazembe.

This report has however been completely rubbished by the renowned businessman.

Dr. Sarpong in stressing further poured his disappointment over the conduct of his management for leaking vital information to the press and now says he will be acting independently henceforth.

“The corporate world is even worried with such reports out there,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“I have informed my management that I will no longer tell them of things in the offing.

“Because even before things materialize, they get out there and even twisted in the media.

“It is the same thing that happened to the Toure (Ahmed) deal in Egypt eventually the deal did not happen.

“Supporters should have confidence in me and I know the owner of the club has absolute confidence in me.

“So I should be left to do my work and be rest assured that Kotoko’s affairs are in good hands.”

…….hollow allegations, empty barrel, prove your allegations with facts, leave the man the alone to do his work, when was the last time you witnessed such management in kotoko, here comes another “pull him down” critics again, but definitely you won’t succeed cos you are up against a giant who has seen it all and knows what people like you are, come up with your real name and be brave with your allegations..SHAAAME.

      • Paola says:

You gotta like how the Browns got a winner in a QB in the 3rd round. That’s a quitlay that has been lacking at that position for a long time. I don’t care where you are from, you have some talent if you complete 70 (!) percent of your passes at a major college program. I don’t see how you cannot like this move considering this is a low risk move. Do we seriously think that the Jake Delhomme era should last for more than one season??

  2. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

DR. NKRUMAH TRIED TO BE A COMMUNIST DICTATOR. WHICH WOULD HVE HELPED GH, BUT NLPP N KOTOKA TOOK HIM OUT. NOW, LOOK AT KOTOKA’S NAME ON OUR AIRPORT. LOOK AT KK SARPONG TRYING TO GO THAT ROUTE…LOL THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT U ARE NOT BEING TRUTHFUL WITH YOU MNGMNT. IN THIS DAY N AGE, KOTOKO HAS NO CLUB STADIUM. KK SARPONG IS INCOMPETENT. OPEN THE BOOKS N BE ACCOUNTABLE

  3. Bowe says:

I like the dr kk sarpong administration but I dislike his lack of transparency. Kotoko as a professional club must declare all revenues & expenditures quarterly , to exude confidence amongst the fans. When kotoko needed money to offset the German coach’s debt, the chairman appealed to the numerous fans, who willingly obliged. Transparency will ensure that no chairman can claim to have singlehandedly funded kotoko as Herbert mensah always claims or a chairman claiming the assets of the club when he has been fired ( as georgido did by taking along players like baba Armando, musa siasia, boateng painter, Nana eshun, charles ampiah, Eric ofori Cantona,Michael Robertson etc. georgido plundered kotoko by taking along all these talents when he cross carpet.

  4. Bohyeba, Knust says:

Pls stop saying things u dont realy know. Did kk sell inkoom? Go and read more about the deal for the young players in serbia.@gh ful find out whether bayern, ac milan, inter have thier own stadia and stop worring us. Wat is the sense of building a stadium at this time while baba yara is there for us. Pls leave kk sarpong nd his management alone to work
