Asamoah: “It’s a shame”

Posted On Wednesday, 3rd October 2012

Kwadwo Asamoah, Juventus

Kwadwo Asamoah expressed his thoughts at the end of Juventus’ encounter against Shakhtar Donestk admitting ‘it wasn’t easy’.

The Ghanaian played in a wider position than he is used to on the field yesterday evening and still managed to get from one box to the other with easy, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to help make an impact on goal like he has done on previous occasions.

“I’m comfortable playing both in the middle and out wide, where I occasionally did a job while at Udinese,” he told Juve’s official site.

“We played well tonight but I didn’t get many balls in attacking areas.

“It’s a shame because they seemed to struggle a bit when one on one. But they spent quite a lot of time on the front foot too and it wasn’t easy to switch from defence to attack.”

  1. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

I DONT LIKE HOW THE JUVE COACH IS USING ASAMOAH. ASAMOAH PLAYS MORE DEFENCE N LEFT WING, THEN PASSES THE BALL, N FALLS BACK. HIS TRUE POTENTIAL WILL NOT BE REALISED. THESE WHITE JUVE PLAYERS WANT THE GLORY N WANT ASAMOAH TO DEFEND N FEED THEM BALLS TO SCORE. THE JUVE PLAYERS LACK DISCIPLINE. IF THIS CONTINUES, THEY WILL BE BEATEN VERY QUICK….. THEY SHOULD PLAY 2, 3 TOUCHES N PASS THE BALL. THE JUVE PLAYERS LIKE TO HOLD N DILLY DALLY WITH THE BALL….

  2. Ato ATL says:

I certainly agree with you. Asamoah has skills than a number of these juve players but it seems he’s playing by his coach’s instructions. He doesn’t hold on to the ball and take on defenders but rather wins the ball and give it to others . Pirlo doesnt even tackle but wants every ball to hold on to and hardly pass the ball to Asamoah has. He ought reason up abduction take chances because he wants to achieve greatness in the game he cannot do it by the way he’s playing now.
This is what muntari did at inter and he lost his place. You are important to the team so sometimes you have to use your discretion abduction ingenuity. This is my advise to you.
