Al Ain coach Zlatko Dalic has revealed Asamoah Gyan’s ambition to lead Ghana to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The 28-year-old hopes to remain relevant to the course of the Black Stars by the time the next edition of the mundial takes place in four years time when he will be 32.

Gyan has sat out only one of the 12 World Cup games of the Black Stars since their debut participation in 2006.

Sceptics believe the ex Sunderland man would have run out of steam to help his country effectively as he has done in previous campaigns at the next World Cup.

But Al Ain coach says his influential striker is determined to play in his fourth straight World Cup for the Black Stars at Russia 2018.

“Gyan wish to appear in the World Cup in Russia for the fourth time,” he disclosed.

The Black Stars captain was presented with awards by the club in recognition of his milestone achievements at the 2014 World Cup on his return for pre-season training.

Gyan finished the tournament as the all-time top scorer for Ghana and also now holds the record as the highest scoring African in the history of the World Cup finals.
