Asamoah Gyan to continue with boxing promotions

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is poised to continue with his Boxing promotions.

This follows the huge success of his maiden bout on Saturday which is already being touted as the most patronised fight in Ghana's history.

Gyan with his Baby Jet Promotions managed to set up the clash which has been on the cards for the past six years between Emmanuel'Game Boy' Tagoe and George Ashie.

The Al Ain hitman had to commit a colossal amount of money to ensure the fight held at the Accra Sports Stadium was a success.

And the ex Sunderland striker believes the money spent was worth while hence his decision to continue with the venture.

"It is true I am a footballer but I also have a lot of interest in boxing," he said.

"Everyone is talking about Saturday's fight. The feedback has been incredible.

"We had to do things professionally and invest quite a lot but the results are there for all to see.

"I am very happy with the turnout, it shows how Ghanaians also appreciate quality.

"And therefore I will continue with it. There are a lot of talents in Ghana when it comes to boxing and I aim to help by way of such promotions."

The fight was eventually won by Tagoe by a majority decision to win the WBA International Lightweight title.
