Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed he will be out for an estimated period of two weeks with a thigh injury.

The Al Ain striker aggravated a thigh strain during Ghana’s 4-0 win over Sudan in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The 27-year-old had initially picked up the injury in the lead up to the crucial qualifier which the Black Stars eventually won comprehensively.

Gyan’s injury has not been taken lightly by his club with coach Cosmin Olaroiu blaming the Ghana FA for getting his priced asset injured.

The ex Sunderland hitman has now revealed he will need two weeks to heal properly in order to make a return.

“'I leave this (injury situation) for the medical staff and I think it will last for two weeks, but I'm responding well to treatment and be back to fields again soon,” he said.

Gyan who currently leads the scorers chat the UAE top flight with 24 goals sat out Al Ain’s 2-1 win over Al Shabab on Friday.
