Asamoah Gyan will make first team return for Al Ain today

Al Ain coach Zlatko Dalic is delighted to have Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan back and ready to play having made a full recovery from injury.

The 29-year-old is set to make his first team return in Sunday’s Arab Gulf League match against Al Nasr having been out for the past month with a thigh injury.

Gyan has completed training sessions with the side since his return from the international break over a week ago.

The former Sunderland hitman will start this evening’s game at the Hazza Bin Hayed Stadium, all things being equal.

And Al Ain coach Zlatko Dalic says Gyan’s return offers him some solutions to enhancing his attack especially with playmaker Omar Abdulrahman missing through injury.

“The return of [Asamoah] Gyan will enhance our attack in this game,” Dalic said at the pre-match press conference.

“He is one of our solutions of the match.”

Gyan hit the ground running again at the start of this season’s UAE top flight – scoring two out of three games before suffering the injury.
