Striker Asamoah Gyan has confirmed that West Ham have slapped in a massive offer to sign him next month but says he is no position to decide on whether he will be making a return to the English Premier League.
The Hammers have reportedly tabled a tempting $165,000 a week deal for the Ghana captain to augment their forward line in their bid to escape relegation.
The 28-year-old has been in blistering form since joining the UAE giants in 2011 from Sunderland and has been outstanding for Ghana leading them to a third successive World Cup appearance.
West Ham now look to return to the ex Stade Rennes hitman to the Premier League in an audacious deal.
But the 28-year-old has told Ghana’s leading football news outfit that he will only move if Al Ain agree to the move.
“Yes I can confirm the offer (from West Ham) is real but then it is up to the club [Al Ain] to decide,†Gyan exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“I have a contract here and I am focused on doing my best for the club.
“So at this point, it is up to both clubs to decide the future and then we’ll see how it goes.â€
The Black Stars striker then made his move permanent after helping the side to the UAE top flight title while emerging the top goal scorer.
The Hammers have struggled for goals this season with their leading striker on just two goals in 15 appearances while Asamoah Gyan has racked up a staggering 14 in 11.
Gyan has made history in the UAE top-flight by being the first in the country’s football history to reach the 70 goal mark.
He has achieved this massive feat in just two seasons.
